Nicole Maiellaro- Speech-Language Pathologist

Nicole is a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist by the Board of Illinois and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Nicole earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Illinois State University. She is passionate about her job and loves that speech-language pathologists have the opportunity to positively impact individual’s lives each and everyday by enhancing their speech and language skills. She has a passion for working with the pediatric population and has maintained a variety of experiences in this area. In particular, she is early intervention certified and has worked with a variety of patients with autism spectrum disorders and has a background in providing aural rehabilitation therapy. She has also worked with a variety of disorders such as autism, apraxia of speech, cleft lip and palate, feeding, and speech sound disorders (articulation/phonology). Nicole is also trained in providing SOS feeding therapy. As a therapist, Nicole describes herself as kind and energetic. These qualities, along with her positive attitude, help keep the children that she works with engaged and motivated throughout therapy sessions. Additionally, Nicole describes herself as a problem solver. She uses evidence-based practice when making clinical decisions and is not afraid to ask for help from her fellow colleagues and therapists. In her free time, Nicole loves spending time with her family and traveling. She is married and has twin boys. Her french bulldog keeps her busy, too! Nicole also loves everything Disney! She is excited to be a member of the Helping Hand’s team and looks forward to working with your child/children!
